Data import format

Bulk data import format will be in  CSV format.  Sample file can be downloaded here.  Also we are happy to accept any other datafeed you have already prepared for other online listings and work with that, subject some limitations. If you have any other form of price list with relevant information we are happy to work with that, just e-mail  to newshop.com.au@gmail.com . You may  also create the datafeed using your accounting programe.

Please check the update to format from time to time. You can use Excel® or other spreadsheet programs to save as CSV file.

You can use the Excel® VLOOKUP function to create the CSV file from your regular price list,  your suppliers price list or export from your accounting program.  See how to use VLOOKUP at TechTrax or experiglot.

Download a sample file set on how to use your supplier prices file to generate the datafeed file here.

Products will be listed by Category and Brand . Merchants should provide Brand and Part no (ie. Part no by the manufacturer). For white box or generic computer systems we will make some new part numbers according to the spec. This will avoid the the same item being listed under two categories (This is a problem in some shopping search engines ).

Prohibited characters :

Quotes "   or ' are not allowed inside text fields. If you have to specify size in inches , use the word inches

  ;  is not allowed.

If included these characters may be replaced by other characters.

Shop-items table is where your prices and your details will come. Your feed CSV file should have as a minium Item part no, Manufacturer and of course your price.

Table Shops is where your details go.

You can  e-mail the datafeed to newshop.com.au@gmail.com , but later we will either let you upload directly to newshop web site or pickup directly from your web site.

Overview of database structure

This is a simple overview of the database structure. It is displayed here so that you can better understand how new shop works. The table names and column names are not the names listed here.

Unless product is in the items table it will not be shown to visitors. Administration of the Items table will be mainly done by newshop staff. But we will provide you a link to add new products.
